The peripheral executives consist of appointed individuals who are responsible for a specific resource, service, or event provided by the MSS. Applications and interviews take place in March and terms span from May 1st to April 30th the following year. For full role descriptions, please see the MSS Executive Policy. SIF Directors

Responsible for running and implementing the Science Initiative Fund. As a team, they will review applications and select those that will receive funding from the MSS.

Tutoring Coordinator 

Works with the VP Academic to manage and run the tutoring program for science students. They will recruit, train, and support tutors while overseeing the success of the program by collecting feedback from students.

Directors of Cinematography

Work with the VP Communications to produce high-quality video projects for the MSS. This involves event and promotional video filming and editing.

Graphic Designers

Works with the VP Communications to produce high-quality promotional material for the MSS. They are responsible for designing posters, MSS clothing, and much more.

Directors of Photography

Work with the VP Communications to produce high-quality photos for the MSS. These photos will capture events and be used for promotion. They also work on photo projects like Scientists Of McMaster.

MacSci Minutes Coordinators

Responsible for planning our own web-show series similar to iCarly/Good Luck Charlie. A series of videos that provide science students information and advice on how to survive science.

Webmaster

Works with the VP Communications to update and maintain the MSS website. They will also work with other communications positions to create promotional material.

Arts Director

Works with the VP Student Affairs to support events, services, and resources that form a connection between the arts and the sciences. They plan the annual Ultimate Art Show.

Formaldehyde Coordinator 

Responsible for planning and running the McMaster Science formal event known as Formaldehyde.

Musical Director 

Responsible for directing and orchestrating the production of the MacSci Musical.

Special Events Planner

Works with the VP Student Affairs and the special events committee to organize the big social events like I Love Science Day, MacSci Frost Week, and other large scale science events.

Athletics & Wellness Director 

Works with the VP Student Affairs to plan and organize athletic sporting events and intramural teams for students in science. They promote and emphasis a healthy lifestyle for science students by having events focused on physical and mental wellness.

Volunteer & Research Coordinator

Works with the VP External to research and promote volunteer and research opportunities for students in science.

Social Media Director

Works with the VP Communications to coordinate and manage all social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn)

Internal Financial Officer

Works with the VP Finance to track reimbursement forms, assist with filling QuickBooks, assist with chairing the SOG Committee, Community Builder Awards Committee, and Graduation Scholarships Committee.

Mentorship Coordinator

Works with the VP Academic to hire, train, and support mentors and mentees, create emails and resource guides, and work on related academic projects and events. They also collect student feedback and host events on academic success.

Academic Advocacy Coordinator

Works with the VP Academic to collect/analyze data, work on academic policies to advocate to the faculty, and aid with the planning of the course evaluations & course wiki campaigns in tandem with MSU Macademics as well as other advocacy campaigns.

Sponsorship and Fundraising Coordinator

Works with the VP Finance to coordinate and organize sponsorships for the entire society and work with different groups to develop the MSS Sponsorship Package.

Quantum Leap Coordinator

Works with the VP External to plan, organize, and implement the Quantum Leap: Careers in Science Conference.
