Hi everyone! My name is Kristen and I’m going into my second year of Integrated Science with a concentration in Medical and biological physics! I am excited for this opportunity to work with MSS as I enjoy helping my fellow classmates and have experience tutoring since high school. I would love to share my passion for teaching and connect it with my interest in physics and chemistry! Outside of being a science student, I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with friends/family. If you are interested in a tutoring session, feel free to send me an email and I look forward to connecting with you!

Preferred Teaching Style: I prefer to customize my teaching style and method based on my tutee’s needs! Nonetheless, I find it effective being as interactive as possible when teaching and I like to give many practice problems and examples we can work through together. I also like to give some independent practice so after I teach and we go through examples together, I give the tutee some questions to try on there own with me there to help. As it is more effective for the tutee to try it themselves but have me there for assistance, which will make the student feel more confident when attempting a similar question on their own time. I also like to implement real world examples to relate the course concepts and use different visual aids like mind maps, diagrams, etc. depending on the tutee’s needs.
