Dora Xu
I’m Dora, and I love teaching and student mentorship! I was in life sciences in 1st year, biochemistry in 2nd year, and now I’m in BioPharm, a Level III entry co-op program. I've excelled in science courses such as calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and more. I’ve been a tutor since high school, and tutoring is such a rewarding experience for me as I get to help students achieve their academic goals and build a strong foundation for future courses. Outside of academics, I enjoy swimming, hiking trails, making art, and reading fiction! Feel free to email me, and I’d be happy to tutor you :)

Preferred Teaching Style: I am flexible and will customize each tutoring session based on your preferred learning style and educational goals! Since I’ve been tutoring for several years, I have experience with using different teaching methods, such as practice questions, past tests, mind maps, summary notes, annotating lecture slides, and more. My favourite teaching method is explaining concepts using examples and going through practice questions that are similar to those you will see on tests and assignments. I encourage students to ask questions, and I make sure you have a good understanding of the concept before moving on. I also believe it’s important to foster a safe learning environment that supports inclusivity, equity and accessibility. Let me know what you need, and I’ll prepare each session according to your preferred style!
