Thiszani Navagnanavel
Hi! My name is Thiszani Navagnanavel and I'm a third-year student in the PNB (Mental Health Spec.) program. I'm very excited to work with the MSS team and help students achieve their full potential! Outside of school, I love playing the piano, reading, listening to music, and playing badminton! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, and I look forward to working together! :)

Preferred Teaching Style: My preferred teaching method is one that encourages the use of a lot of visual aids and student engagement with concepts! For example, with visuals like Powerpoint slides, I first like to review key concepts with the student. Once I have provided an initial explanation of a concept, I will ask the student if they have any questions, and if they do, I will adjust my explanation or switch to a different way of teaching until they have a better understanding. After this, I like to summarise all key concepts using flowcharts and/or concept diagrams to reinforce the student's understanding. I then like to work through practice problems with the student as a way of promoting active learning. I will first do a few practice problems myself to show how I would go about solving the question. I will then have a set of practice problems for them to do, which I will use to clarify misconceptions and address any knowledge gaps. However, I am always happy to implement different teaching methods depending on the student’s learning preferences and interests!
